Five Questions with Michelle McIvor, PR and Communications Manager
In 10 words or less, what do you do for Gabriella’s Kitchen?
I help spread the word about skinnypasta and its goodness!
When it comes to exercise, what’s your favorite activity?
I love running, if my bad knee cooperates, and am slightly obsessed with spinning. I’ve also started exercising at home, so I rely on the Nike Training Club and Sweat apps for workouts.
What does your ideal Saturday entail?
I have a baby boy, so if I get to “sleep in” until 7 a.m., the day is already a winner. Beyond that, my ideal Saturday includes enjoying a relaxing, coffee-fuelled morning, taking a long walk along the river with my husband and son, and enjoying a dinner we’ve cooked together. And if I can squeeze in a spin class with friends, I’m thrilled.
What was the last book you read that you really enjoyed?
I finally got around to reading Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt, a book that a few of my friends recommended. I’m a sucker for character-driven fiction and this book — about a girl who loses her uncle to AIDS in the 1980s — didn’t disappoint. Is it weird that I consider crying my eyes out the sign of a great book?
Last but not least, let’s talk skinnypasta. Which product is your go-to?
It’s a toss-up between our skinnypasta HIGH PROTEIN Linguine, which we’ve been having lately with meatballs, and our SUPERFOOD TEFF Penne. We keep things simple with the penne: we chop up a bunch of fresh tomatoes and saute them with olive oil and Italian herbs, and then throw the pasta into the skillet. It’s one of our favorite quick meals to make because it’s delicious, healthy and satisfying.
