Fitness is not about vanity, and wellness cannot be measured by looking in the mirror.
Fitness is, and should be about quality of life. It’s about the years gained in independent living as you age, and the life shared with those who matter most to you.
Fitness is not about how many Instagram likes you get, it’s about the memories you will continue to share with your family and friends as long as you make your health a priority.
As Mike puts it, fitness is about “staying stronger and maintaining lean tissue as you get older.” Simply stated, “moving around and keeping your diet on point is going to help you live longer, is going to make your life better.”
While we believe in practicing healthy eating and exercise habits from as young of an age as possible, it’s never too late to start, and as Mike has pointed out it’s actually the 58-97 year-old range where is it more important than ever. So get up, and go for that walk, take the stairs, carry your groceries, find your bike, skates, skis, bathing suit, tennis racket, or golf clubs and take them for a spin. Stay active for at least 30 minutes a day, 3 times per week and enjoy the benefits of a longer and fuller life. Yes, that’s only one hour and a half a week! And of course on the healthy diet side of things, we’ll continue to do our best to help you by providing foods that are highly nutritious and taste truly delicious.
Thank you Mike for sharing this incredibly perceptive and inspirational video! You’ve reminded us all about the real reason we should endeavour to make 2017 our healthiest year yet.
